Pricing

To confirm your pregnancy, newborn or baby photoshoot, a £150 session fee is due upfront. This fee secures you preferred session time and date, and also includes one 8×10-inch print in a modern frame.

Collections of the photographs captured during your shoot are available to purchase in addition to the session fee.

Newborn and Baby Photoshoots

I absolutely love the special energy and excitement that comes from a pregnancy and expecting a baby. However, finding the right newborn photographer can be a little confusing. There’s often so many options, you may feel concerned about fitting the session around your little one’s routine, and what about trying to factor in older siblings too? It can all feel very overwhelming!

As a mum of two boys, I know from experience that those first weeks fly past in a blur.

I want to make it really easy for you to plan your newborn’s first photoshoot and be ready on the day, without a hitch.

Nothing needs to be different from your newborn’s normal routine during your photography session, I can make the photoshoot fit around you and the baby.

Planning the day in advance, ideally 1-2 months ahead of the time, is the best way to ensure that it all goes smoothly.

When to book your newborn photography session

Newborn sessions ideally take place in the first 2 weeks after birth, when babies are more likely to sleep through the session. However, timings can be flexible. As soon as you know when you’d like to book a newborn photoshoot with me, please do get in touch.

After the initial enquiry, we will pencil in a date and time for your session. Price lists for image collections are available at any point, upon request.

What to expect when booking your newborn photography shoot

Prior to the photoshoot, we will also schedule in a phone call to discuss everything. This includes your preferences, who you want to be in the photographs and what your vision for the photoshoot is. It’s also an opportunity to discuss how you would like to display the portraits we will be creating- on your walls, in the nursery, gifted to family members? These are just some ideas, you might have more, I would love to hear all about them.

On the day, I will guide you and take care of all the details like placing the baby, gently moving them into poses, and getting the lighting just right. In a home environment, I will look to incorporate any interesting features into the shoot such as windows, interior design features, flowers, steps etc.

To make the preparation seamless ahead of the shoot, I will send you my Newborn Love notes which contain lots of tips on how to get you and the baby ready on the day.

Placed him gently

“Laura was clearly experienced in handling babies and managed to calm my baby down and placed him gently into various appropriate poses. The studio was warm, homely and welcoming. I’d be recommending the grandparents here for a shoot later as a gift.”

Newborn photography

For a newborn photoshoot in your home, I will arrive at our agreed time and I will bring with me some items I use to make babies comfortable when sleeping, a small cushion, wraps (babies love to be wrapped), some syper cute baby clothing items and other peices of equipment, such as lighting etc. Ideally it is good to give baby a feed, 20 minutes before I arrive so you have time to feed and wind them adn we can make a start, soon after my arrival.

For a newborn photoshoot in my home studio, after you arrive, I recommend you feed the baby so that the baby settles into sleep. I will then take the baby ready for the photos, with a number of set-ups and if you wish at the end I will take family photos.

In the press

To document a moment in history and to bring joy to families in my local area, I took Doorstep Photographs during the month of May as a fundraiser for St George’s Hospital.

See the project on their website

Doorstep portraits by Local Photographer for St George’s

The project has been a great blessing duing the lockdown and it has been amazing meeting so many local families and capturing unique memories for them.

The project was captured in an article by the South West Londoner together with another local photographer taking photographs of families in South West London staying at home.
