Newborn & Maternity Photographer in London

Welcome, let me tell you more

I absolutely love the special energy and excitement that comes from a pregnancy and expecting a baby. Holding the baby up for the first time is the strongest emotion we parents will ever experience.

However, finding the right newborn photographer can be a little confusing. With too many options and some apprehension about the timing, will the baby be good, what about my older child, it can quickly turn into a worry.

I want to make it really easy for you to plan your newborn’s first photoshoot and be ready on the day, without a hitch.

First let me tell you straight from the start that I know how delicate babies are and also how unpredictable. It hasn’t been long since they arrived in this world, a big transition for them and for you. However on the day of the photoshoot, nothing has to be different from their normal routine. I can make the photoshoot fit around that.

Planning the day in advance, ideally 1-2 months ahead of the time will ensure that all goes smoothly.

I know from experience, as a mum of two boys that those first weeks fly past in a blur.

What to expect

My style is natural, relaxed and timeless, focusing on the love and connection in your family. I encourage families to cuddle their baby and be as natural as possible and in the moment.

I guide you all the way and I look at all the details, including placing you in the best lighting. I incorporate your own environment as part of the shoot, including picking out on any interesting features: making use of windows, interior design features, flowers, steps etc.

To make the preparation seamless, I will send you my Newborn Love notes, on how to get ready on the day for you and the baby.

Prior to the photoshoot, we will also schedule in a phone call to discuss everything. Your preferences, who you want to be in the photographs and what your vision for the photoshoot is. This will also be an opportunity to discuss how you would like to display the portraits we will be creating, on your walls, in the nursey, gifted to family members? These are just some ideas, you might have more, I would love to hear all about them.

To enquire about my availability, you can call me on 07934788100 or email me directly at Alternatively, you can complete the form at the end of this page.

A nice homely touch

“Really enjoyed the experience. Photoshoot had a nice homely touch. Pictures were professional. Family photos excellent. Reasonably priced to buy also. Highly recommend.”

Pricing for newborn and maternity photography

The final prices will depend on the collection selected and below I give a general indication of the price range. You can also ask for a price list to be sent to you.

Investing in beautiful portraits of your children & family is invaluable and you will have precious memories to cherish forever.

Clients usually spend between £700-£1050 in collections, print products and wall art. They love the quality of the products and being surrounded by the beautiful images of their children, displayed in their home.

In order to confirm a photoshoot, a £150 session fee is due upfront.

This secures you preferred session time, including one print in 8×10 inches, in a modern frame.

The price of the collections is in addition.

These are the types of collections I offer and they are not set in stone, i.e they can be flexible.

A newborn photoshoot session takes time, as there will be breaks and top up feeds, changing time etc. I do not rush the session that’s why I allow for 1-2 hours.

The collections differ by the number of images they include which are your final choice of photographs. I edit the final portraits taking the time to make them look “perfect” and “spotless”.

I love seeing the final portraits in print, which is why I always include one print in a farme with the sesion fee.

You don’t have to choose the collections upfront. At the time of the viewing prepare to fall in love with all of them, that is why I do my work.

Collection I has 10 digital images that we finalise together and are edited.

In addition I also include 5 prints from the 10 digitals that you choose to have printed in 7×5 inches format. The prints are mounted and ready to be framed.

Collection II has 15 digital images that we finalise together and are edited.

In addition I also include 5 prints from the 15 digitals that you choose to have printed in 7×5 inches format. The prints are mounted and ready to be framed.

Collection III has 25 digital images.

In addition it also includes, a beautiful album with a 10 page spread that is a precious memory book from the photoshoot session.

Wall art products are in addition.

Wall art

We can disucss wall art options, at the time of the booking and we can continue the conversation to make sure we find the right solution for your home, your style and your needs.

Having your photographs and portraits printed and on display, on your walls, is a great source of everyday joy and positive reinforcement.

I work alongside a great interior designer with great experience in residential design projects who can also be involved to give you her bespoke expert advice.

After all, art is a great source of joy and inspiration.

Newborn photography

For a newborn photoshoot in your home, I will arrive at our agreed time and I will bring with me some items I use to make babies comfortable when sleeping, a small cushion, wraps (babies love to be wrapped), some syper cute baby clothing items and other peices of equipment, such as lighting etc. Ideally it is good to give baby a feed, 20 minutes before I arrive so you have time to feed and wind them adn we can make a start, soon after my arrival.

For a newborn photoshoot in my home studio, after you arrive, I recommend you feed the baby so that the baby settles into sleep. I will then take the baby ready for the photos, with a number of set-ups and if you wish at the end I will take family photos.

What happens after the shoot?

Afer the photoshoot, I edit the images for the final preview and we will book a date together for the viewing of the photos.

Usually images are made available after the shoot within a couple of weeks.

In the press

To document a moment in history and to bring joy to families in my local area, I took Doorstep Photographs during the month of May as a fundraiser for St George’s Hospital.

See the project on their website

Doorstep portraits by Local Photographer for St George’s

The project has been a great blessing duing the lockdown and it has been amazing meeting so many local families and capturing unique memories for them.

The project was captured in an article by the South West Londoner together with another local photographer taking photographs of families in South West London staying at home.
