A new nursery unit opens at Fircroft School
As a parent of the school and as a photographer I could not attend the opening of the new nursery unit, without my camera. Especially since the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan also an ex-pupil at Fircroft school would unveil the opening plaque.
Sadia Khan is also a governor at our school and he is very involved.
As a parent, I enjoyed listening to the teachers, head-teacher and school governors about the hard work they put into the making of the new nursery unit.
We all felt that our school is a great place for our children to learn, make friends and grow into responsible citizens of the future.
The new unit is a joint space between the early-year classes, so nursery and reception where children can all enjoy learning and playing together.
All the children that start nursery at Fircroft school, will be able to benefit from the new unit and the joint learning philosophy.
The project has been 10 years in the making and finalising it, is a great achievement for all the staff, parents and governors involved.
Elliot my younger son, is one of the lucky children who started nursery just as the new unit opened.
In the photos are the Mayor of London and our former head teacher, Ms Wilson; current and former school teachers and governors, the unveiling of the early years unit plaque, Elliot trying out the new nursery toys and activities and members of our amazing PTA!
Fircroft school organises a wide range of activities organised which is amazing! Following the visit from the Mayor of London, we had the honour of children book writer Michael Rosen visiting the school, meeting the children and signing books.
Fircroft PTA also organises a great number of events for children and parents and everyone is welcome to get involved.
